Butterfly Wellbeing Reflexology and Reiki in North Leeds

ABOUT REFLEXOLOGY

Reflexology is a powerful method of relaxing the body and mind whilst balancing the biological systems. Having no unpleasant side effects, this therapy will help release the mind from it's shackles and bring about a more grounded experience to everyday life and stresses.

It works by applying gentle pressure to specific points on the feet which correspond with the organs, glands, muscles and systems in the body.

Whilst sometimes used simply to aid deep relaxation, more and more people are turning to Reflexology for a wide range of specific conditions such as stress and it's related conditions, sub-fertility, digestive problems, sleep disorders and many more.

When we first meet, I will go through a thorough consultation with you to establish medical history, lifestyle and reasons for coming to see me and work out a possible treatment plan. Then the best bit.....you will be reclined in an extremely comfortable position on a specially designed chair and you can relax and enjoy your treatment. Some people like to talk throughout their therapy and many doze off....whatever suits you!

Overall, Reflexology is always effective and should leave you feeling lifted, peaceful, centred and a little spoilt! The treatment itself is deeply rejuvenating, bringing an immediate release of tension with numerous positive results and prolonged health benefits.

Reflexologists do not diagnose or prescribe.

ABOUT REIKI

Reiki (Ray-key) is Japanese for 'universal life energy' and is a system of natural healing. The tradition of Reiki was founded by Dr Mikao Usui in the early 20th century and evolved as a result of his research, experience and dedication. There are many variations of Reiki but in essence, Reiki treatments can help the body emotionally or spiritually. Reiki is a process that anyone can enjoy in the normal course of their life and can be used alongside any other conventional or complementary treatments. Reiki often helps to provide emotional support during recovery.

During a treatment you would remain clothed, lie on a couch and relax. I will then gently place my hands in a series of non-invasive positions on or near the body. There is no massage or manipulation involved. You may or may not feel sensations during a Reiki treatment. Benefits reported by individuals include deep relaxation, promoting a calm, peaceful sense of wellbeing on all levels. Some people feel sensations of heat, tingling or experience seeing colours, whilst others can have an emotional response, indicating that shifts are taking place, allowing harmony to be restored.

As a Reiki Practitioner, I am not trained to diagnose and will not predict any specific outcomes from the treatment. Each person experiences Reiki differently depending on their individual needs at the time.
